This is my pen and ink drawing of a scene from the 1935 movie, A Tale Of Two Cities. I've used Micron pens on Bristol board. The image is approximately 12x14. I've been drawing all my life and at age 72 I'm still going strong. When I start a drawing I'm never sure if I can do it or if it will turn out. When and if it does I'm as surprised as I suspect others are when they see it for the first time. I was born and raised in Louisville Ky and lived here all my life and drawing is something I've al

One of my lines of enquiry is the notion of transcience and regeneration in urban environments and how skylines change and evolve over a period of time, boasting architectural treasures from different periods., creating a great juxtaposition between different building types, such as sthe old chapel with a tower resembling a Venetian campanile and the modern glass skyscrapers. The painting was completed in 2019 in gouache and the sky based on a photograph I took early in the morning.

An experiment using soft pastels on stretched canvas. The texture of the canvas lent itself to the pastels quite well. The image is based on a photo taken by a friend visiting Venice, Italy. By using more vibrant colors than the original, I believe it became more magical.

I'm new to oils and painting, I would say my style would be fine art and surrealism, no rules and I can escape, experiment and have fun. I painted this scene as I'd came across a beautiful photo of calla Lilly valley in California, I use the idea but made it my ownwith the colours and changed parts of it, I like the perspective and the enchanting mysterious vibe it gave. Returned to art almost a year ago, still finding my way, but determined, excited and fully motivated to reach my potential,
